Behavior and reactivity

Start with safety, not blame

Living with reactivity, fear, guarding, or a bite history can be stressful, especially after other attempts have not helped. The first step is understanding what is happening without rushing to a package.

Required first step

A $75 in-person evaluation

An evaluation is required before any plan or package is discussed for reactivity toward people or dogs, fear, guarding, or bite history.

  • Review the behavior history and current concerns
  • Identify immediate management and safety priorities
  • Observe the dog in a controlled setting
  • Discuss realistic next steps without promising an outcome

A measured path

Management first. Progress gradually.

The initial goal is to reduce preventable risk and create conditions where learning can happen. Progress is gradual and depends on the individual dog, history, environment, and consistent owner participation.

Aaron may recommend involving your veterinarian or a veterinary behavior professional when medical or welfare concerns could be part of the picture.

Behavior work carries no guarantees. If your dog’s needs are better served elsewhere, the evaluation can help clarify that before you commit to a training plan.
